The look. The feel. The challenge. While almost all have moved on to digital, we appreciate the art of film and everything it has to offer, no matter how painful. We prefer the feel of a 90 year old film camera and the things it's seen long before we came around. We want to continue that camera's story, each photo a place and time it has been in history.
At Emolsion, we enjoy the spectacular. The oddities. The mysterious. Whether a historical home or building, to a mystical macabre for a night of noir, there's an angle only the lens will discover and those are the creative visuals we seek out. The search for the unique can be just as exhilerating as loading a new roll of film!
Every roll of film we shoot is developed by us using the best chemistry we deem the best fit for that particular film. We will primarily shoot 120, 35, and Slide/ Reversal using various B&W developers, C-41, and E-6.
Old cameras get as much attention as the photos they take when out in public. For some, it brings back memories from long ago, and for others a first time experience even seeing film being used. From the soft click of Rolleiflex to a Super Ikonta B once beloved by Ansel Adams, we use all kinds of vintage cameras in our collection: Mamiya
